Bernie Ecclestone views on Formula 1 in U.S

Bernie Ecclestone, president and CEO of Formula One Management and Formula One Administration says that the sport "will not be big in America because US has been slow to get F1 because they want to see a profit before they start."

Formula 1 race has been scheduled in United States with a race in Texas in 2012 with a second race being planned in New Jersey in the year 2013.

Ecclestone also says that a grand prix has not been held in South Africa since 1993; hence he is in a plan to launch 2013 grand prix in South Africa.

It was announced in October that a second American grand prix would be held in New Jersey for 10 years from 2013.

Bernie Ecclestone, CEO of Formula 1, said that Bahrain had paid the fee to host 2011 grand prix even after their race was cancelled.

FIA Awards in India

Maiden F1 race in India gave the country a special name on the world motorsports map. The circuit in India was welcomed worldwide and it gave the 2011’s Best F1 Race Promoter's Award to Jaypee Sports International Limited - the owners of Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida.

Reports say that Indian GP organizers became the third successive promoters after Abu Dhabi (2009) and Korea (2010) won this award in their inaugural year.

German Driver Sebastian Vettel, currently driving for Red Bull was awarded the World Champion trophy for the second consecutive year.

Jenson Button and Mark Webber also received awards for second and third place finishes in the Drivers' Championship.

After receiving the award Vettel exclaims and said that "It's great to be here in India at the FIA Gala to collect my second Drivers' Championship Trophy, and also I would like to thank Renault who worked so hard all year".

Over the course of the FIA Annual General Meeting the second edition of the Indian GP was also confirmed on October 28, 2012 in the Capital.

Invitation from FIA awards for the top three F1 drivers

Formula One World Champion Sebastian Vettel along with Red Bull team mate Mark Webber and Jenson Button currently driving for McLaren are invited for the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Awards on Friday in India.

The awards night will be preceded by the motorsports body's Annual General Assembly.

Sebastian Vettel who won the inaugural Indian Grand Prix in October will be officially crowned the 2011 Champion at the astounding FIA award ceremony in India which has been moved from the traditional venue in Monaco.

On Sunday Matteo Bonciani, FIA's F1 head of communications announced that Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber and Jenson Button are the top drivers of the season who will be attending the FIA awards event on Friday.

Bonciani added that "the drivers should reach Delhi by Wednesday or Thursday and the awards night will be a very private moment for the drivers."

FIA and Federation of Motorsports Clubs of India (FMSCI) will be co-hosting the event and have planned various activities for the delegates, who will be part of the Annual General Assembly (AGA) beginning from Monday onwards.
