Sebastian Vettel wins Indian Grand Prix

The race started with a minute of silence for Dan Wheldon and Marco Simoncelli who lost their lives on track.

In the 2^nd lap William’s driver Rubesn Barrichello loses his front wheel and Sahara Force India's Adrian Sutil was on 9^th and India's HRT driver Narain Karthikeyan remains in 16^th after fifth lap.

Ferrari's Massa, Buemio of Toro Rosso, Maldonado of Williams, Glock of Virgin and Kobayashi of Sauber are the drivers who were forced to retire at the BIC track of the Indian GP because of the problem in the car.

As usual Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel wins the race with Jenson Button in the 2^nd place with Alonso in the third place who overtook Webber by 2 seconds.

Formula 1 - 2011 Indian Grand Prix

India’s first Formula 1 racing track all set in Buddh International Circuit and the race is going to happen on 30^th of October 2011.

The event was formed by Vodafone, who changed the local street into a mini Formula 1 racing circuit which is located 35 miles to the south of Delhi.

Lewis Hamilton, currently driving for McLaren’s team exclaims that there were around 40,000 viewers last month in India when he drove his MP4-23 through the streets near Bangalore.

He also says that "he was overwhelmed by seeing the number of passionate F1 fans in India.

We were expecting an approximate of 5,000 people to turn up, but there came around 40,000 fans which were highly incredible.

India is a sport loving nation especially cricket, but I think Formula 1 racing will rock in India which makes the people in India to take Formula 1 to their hearts."

F1 pays tribute to Dan Wheldon

Formula One has paid tribute to Dan Wheldon, an IndyCar racer who died in an accident in the season-ending Las Vegas race on this Sunday i.e. on 16^th of October 2011.

Wheldon was the 2005 IndyCar Champion and winner of 2005 and 2011 Indianapolis 500.

While riding at the bottom of the track, his car went in the air and rolled across the track. Wheldon was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

Post-mortem report concluded that Wheldon died because of the blunt force trauma to the head.

"This is an extremely sad day, My heart goes out to his family and friends during this extremely difficult time" said McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton.

Sebastian Vettel - 2011 F1 world champion

Sebastian Vettel, Red Bull's F1 driver has become the youngest driver in F1 history to win back-to-back World Championships after he finishes 3^rd at the Japanese Grand Prix.

The great racer Michael Schumacher took over the lead from Button and completed at 7^th place for Mercedes GP.

Sebastien Buemi of Toro Rosso was forced to retire from the Japanese Grand Prix when his left front wheel and tyre came off after a stop.

Overall, it was a breathtaking race at Suzuka with Vettel clearly being the happiest person after claiming his 2^nd title.
